Russian countryside
Staying in a village wooden house is another way of learning Russian people and their lifestyles. And it is, no doubt, an excellent way of recreation both for adults and children. You will be surrounded by beautiful nature and hospitality of hosts. And you will be served with traditional Russian food: ecologically clean food cooked in a Russian stove, home made milk products, traditional pastry.
The village of Marchugi is 60 km to the west of Perm. The house is at the end of the village, close to the forest. It dates back to the middle of the 19th century. It is built of larch tree and consists of two parts. One part of the house is a summer house, another part is a winter house. The interiors represent the lifestyle of peasant family. In winter part the ceiling is lower, the stove is bigger and there are less windows. Summer part is higher and lighter. The stoves are of cobwork. High roof hides a big attic, where they used to warp threads for floor covering. By the house there is a barn, a cellar, a yard and a well. In the barn one can see the bins, where they used to keep grain, bee keeping items, implements. In the cellar nearby they used to put snow and ice in winter to keep food in it during summer time. At present one part of the house is occupied by the owners, and another part is offered to the guests.
Banya (Russian sauna) is at a distance from the house as in old times. In winter one can jump into the snow or dip into the pond in summer after a go to banya. After banya guests can enjoy the herbal tea with honey or home made jam (varenye).
There is a big garden with raspberries, black currents, apple trees, blackthorn, plum trees. The hosts keep their own apiary, so honey is always offered to the guests. Beautiful surroundings of the village can be explored on foot on a summer day or by skis in winter. One can also go sledging down the hill nearby.

Day 1
Meeting tourists at the station. Transfer Perm – village of Marchugi.
Arrival to the village, dinner (traditional food). Banya.
Day 2
Breakfast. Going for a walk in the forest nearby, picking up mushrooms or berries (in summer). Going for a ski trip (in winter). Lunch. Rest. Transfer Marchugi –Perm. Seeing off tourists at the train station.
